In the Fall of 1998, the Celebration of Excellence was selected as the "Outstanding Public Service Project" in the nation by the American Bar Association (ABA). The State Bar of Georgia's Young Lawyer Division is an affiliate of the ABA Young Lawyers Division. After attending Affiliate Outreach Project Conference in October 1998, several of Georgia's lawyers have volunteered to continue to teach lawyers in other states how to start similar projects.
